IFMA European Cup – Singen, Germany

The beautiful town of Singen is set to host the 2007 European IFMA Cup.

Countries from all over Europe will travel to this event, which is being organized by the German Muaythai Federation (Muaythai Bund Deutschland) and the Muaythai Club Singen.

This year’s European IFMA Cup will form part of the Muay Thai Against Drugs campaign, which is under the patronage of His Excellency Pichitr Kullavanijaya, Privy Councilor to His Majesty the King of Thailand and will be a great promotion for amateur Muaythai, especially now that Muaythai has been inducted into the General Assembly of International Sport Federation (GAISF) and has for the first time been officially invited to the IOC, Summer and Winter Olympic, GAISF Sport Accord meeting to be held in Beijing in April.

IFMA European Cup Update – Singen, Germany

The 2007 IFMA European Cup, to be held at the Munchried Sporthalle in Singen–Bodensee, Germany, is looking to be a huge event, with confirmed participation from Belgium, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Austria, Philippines, Greece, Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Russia, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany.

The event will open with arrivals, weigh-ins and medical checks on 23rd March, followed by all preliminary bouts and the semi-final on 24th March, which will culminate in the action-packed finals on the 25th.

Bouts will be held according to three fighter class classifications – C class for fighters with less than 10 fights, B class for fighters with less than 20 fights and A class for fighters with more than 20 fights. There will be both male and female divisions, as well as a junior male division (fighters must be at least 12 years of age). As this is an IFMA sanctioned event, all IFMA rules and regulations will apply.
