September 12 Results: Female Muaythai Rocked IFMA World Championship

In the final day for the Female Division of the IFMA World Championship, Jubilee stadium was on fire.

In the 45kg, Finland’s Kati Kaareskoski won Gold against Alena Liashkevish from Belarus.

In the 48 kg, Anastasiya Shcherbinina from Russia seized the edge in a crunch match against Belarusian Liudmila Chyslova.

In the 51kg, Russian Oksana Kijnerova won again in a close match against Finnish Jonna Suhonen.

In the Bantam weight, Canada’s Ashley Nichols took gold in a toe to toe match against Germany.

In Featherweight, Poland’s Joanna’s Jedrzejczyk showed why she is the current number one in IFMA by winning her third gold, but it was in a hard fought match against France’s Katia Semail.

For the Lightweight, Peru’s Valentina Shevchenko, who lost her title last year to Morroco, came back to claim gold against Belarusian Katsiaryna Viaryha.

In 63.5kg, Sweden’s Lina Länsberg won gold against Australia’s Melissa Walsh.

In the Welterweight division, it was an all Scandinavian final, Sweden’s Jennifer Österlin won gold against Finland’s Heidi Bjorklund.

In the Light Middle weight, Sweden’s Elina Nilsson won in a very close encounter with France’s Laetitia Bakissy.

In the Middle weight, Croatia again which won gold, Andreja Ivas winning probably one of the hardest matches, against Ireland’s Denise O’Connell, who fought like a hurricane.

Female Muaythai really proved to be a hit and the wide medal spread shows that Female Muaythai is a global phenomenon.
