Only 5 days to the opening of the 2013 Asian Indoor & Martial Art Games (AIMAG), the official test event for the upcoming Asian Games under the banner of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
Muaythai is one of the biggest sports in the games with 26 Asian Olympic committees sending national teams under their respective national flags to the games.
The President of FAMA the OCA recognised Asian federation, Mr Karim Massimov said that he is extremely happy with the number of Olympic committees which have sent national teams to the games and he is looking forward to a close cooperation between the NOCs, the OCA and the National Federations and the international federation IFMA.
IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan said that this event is by no means the end of the journey for the Gold medal winners in many divisions, as they will automatically qualify for the upcoming World Combat Games (WCG), organised by SportAccord and under patronage of the IOC in which the 15 Olympic and non-Olympic combat sports will come together in October. President Tapsuwan is looking forward to a very close cooperation between the 15 Combat Ifs, the OCA and SportAccord.
