The Host Country in Muaythai Fever

It has been six years since Thailand was the host of an IFMA World Cup or World Championship therefore Thailand is excited to be the first country to hold the competition under the Royal patronage.

It is for the first time that the Royal Family has donated 4 trophies for one event His Majesty the King’s Trophy, Her Majesty the Queen’s Trophy, His Royal Highness the Prince’s Trophy and Her Royal Highness Princess Sirinthorn’s Cup so for Thailand it is  more than just a competition, it is a reason for the pride of the Kingdom.

The official Thailand qualifier took place from 15-19 May  in beautiful Pattaya where over 3000 athletes took part in the final event to qualify for the junior and senior male and female categories.

Kajorn Prowsri, spokesperson of the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand  under Royal patronage, sole member of IFMA, stated that Thailand will enter full junior teams to have a chance to win all the Royal Trophies. Junior competition took place in all provinces of Thailand  with the finals in Pattaya and Team Thailand is ready for the Royal World Cup.

The male and female team will feature some of the biggest names in world muaythai  as Thailand will see worldwide athletes coming to compete for the Royal trophies, Thailand is well aware of the challenge and strength of  the visiting teams and that a combined effort is needed . The Thai team will go in a 4 week  preparation camp to get the national team ready to ensure the team Thailand is in the best shape  for the biggest Muaythai event in the history of the sport
