IFMA World Champion Gets Highest Honour in Ukraine

The Ukrainian Muaythai Federation (UMF), the sole recognised muaythai federation in Ukraine, one of the founding members of IFMA and EMF has just received another honour.

Igor Liubchenko, multiple IFMA World Champion, winner if the World Combat Games has been awarded with Triumph of the Year award as the most outstanding sportsman.
Igor Liubchenko said that it was a true honour to receive the award presented by the NOC of Ukraine; that muaythai has given him so much in his life, and that this is one of the highlights of his career.

Gennady Trukhanov, President of UMF and EMF said that Igor is an outstanding athlete in and out of the ring, a true ambassador for sport, and that over the last 20 years Ukraine has developed muaythai from the grass roots which is truly showing results in these recent years. Igor is one of the perfect examples.

Sergey Bubka, one of the most outstanding Olympians of all times, IOC Executive Board member, and President of the Ukrainian NOC said that Olympic Committee of Ukraine is following the development of muaythai, and that the Ukrainian Muaythai Federation is one of the most striving sport federations in Ukraine. He also stated that he is happy that the IOC Executive Board has just approved provisional recognition to AIMS in which muaythai is one of the 23 member federations.
