Indonesia Builds for the Future

Indonesian Muaythai in the recent years have truly developed as the national federation is doing grass root development. Many important events have been held and last weekend saw an important national regional championship held in Makkasar.

Teams from all Indonesian regions participated in this important event to promote Muaythai towards the Sea Games and Asian Games, 2018 which  will be held in Indonesia.IMG_9253

After 3 days of outstanding competition, the junior champion team come from East Kalimantan and the senior team from East Java. The general secretary of Indonesian Muaythai federation, Dr. Sudirman Nadir Nur, said that this was another important event and Indonesia will continue to develop Muaythai in all Indonesian region.

In 2016 Indonesia will send a strong team to the IFMA World Championship in Sweden, the Asian Beach Games organised by the OCA in Vietnam, and also will hold a large international championship IFMA in Indonesia. Indonesian athletes need to get more international exposure. They have won the gold medal in the last IFMA junior world championship which shows that the hard work is bearing fruits.

IFMA President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan stated that it is truly important to continue to develop Muaythai in Indonesia. They have outstanding athletes and with so many games, the future looks bright.

Asian FAMA President, Karim Massimov, congratulated Indonesia on another important event and looks forward to cooperate especially in helping to push Muaythai into the Asian Games but also for the Asian Beach Games in Vietnam and the Indoor Asian and Martial Art Games in Turkmenistan.
