Swiss Muay Thai is growing from strength to strength and rapidly becoming a force to be reckoned with in Europe. The Swiss Muay Thai Verband (SMTV) has been participating at every important IFMA event of late from the European Championships to the World Championships, FISU to the World Cup and so on. The federation is focusing on developing muaythai from the grass roots level to build for the future.
This year’s Swiss Championship was just as important as it was to select the Swiss national team for the IFMA World Championship in Sweden and the Youth World Championship in Bangkok.
There have been many VIP’s in the audience, including French superstar and multiple K1 star Jerome Le Banner who came to support and encourage the athletes to be the best they can be.
Muaythai is considered one of the toughest combat sports in the world but it was an emotional moment when one of the athletes proposed in the ring to his long-term girlfriend which brought tears to the eyes of many observers in the crowd. A fantastic event! Congratulations to this year’s organizer and host from the beautiful city of Martigny.
