First Teams Arrive to Cancun

5 days before the opening ceremony Cancun becomes the world’s biggest Muaythai camp as teams arrive at the Cancun International Airport.


Follow the Feathered Serpent is the motto volunteers established for participants as they guide teams to their buses with the official logo of the event – Quetzalcoatl https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quetzalcoatl which forms part of Mesoamerican literature and is a deity whose name comes from the Nahuatl language and means “feathered serpent” or “Quetzal-feathered Serpent”.
Swedish delegation arrived at Cancun 5 days before the official weigh-in with its two stars Sofia Olofsson and Patricia Axling already getting into the competition mood in their journey for the following medals. A charter plane from Russia landed in Cancun colouring the airport in national colours with their bright national tracksuits. The team made so many heads turn and Cancun already knows that a special event is coming to their city.
United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Finland are already in Cancun and soon the elite of the world Muaythai will join them to celebrate and contribute to the society through sport, and show the best of Muaythai in the field of play.
