History was made on the first day at the IFMA World Championships where the elite athletes from 78 countries come together to compete for glory.
Thailand’s team was hailed as an All-Star team – as muaythai has become an international sport and Thailand is battling for their top spot so the pressure is on. The national team of Thailand is made up of some of the biggest names in muaythai.
On the opening day Asa Tenpow from the USA was matched with one of the most decorated athletes from Thailand and Asa set the house on fire with a world-class performance, sending the Thai superstar packing.

This made headlines around the world, especially in Thailand. And showcased not only that muaythai is truly international, but the seriousness from the United States Muaythai Federation to be ready for Birmingham – and to compete against the best of the best and flying the American flag high.
