2020 World Championships Go to Abu Dhabi

On December 17th, the 2019 Asian Muaythai Championship was held in the Middle East for the first time in Abu Dhabi, where over 300 amateur and youth athletes from 26 Asian Countries. The athletes of Asia competed over a 5-day period at the impressive Corniche Flag Pole Arena, which was purposefully built to promote Muaythai in Abu Dhabi.

This 5-day championship was broadcasted live on Abu Dhabi sports TV, Dubai sports TV and was live streamed on the Olympic Channel, UAM app, in addition to the UAE Muaythai and kickboxing Federation’s social network and IFMA channels.

IFMA Championships are not just about competition, the 2019 Asian Championships held 4 conferences, 1 beach workout, 1 cultural trip and one gala dinner which athletes and spectators will remember for years to come.

 

Due to the success of the Asian Championships, Abu Dhabi will become the first Middle East City to host the IFMA World Muaythai Championships. The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre “ADNEC”, a world class and multi-award winning venue, will be home to the world’s elite Muaythai athletes June 5th-13th .

ADNEC is the largest exhibition center in the Middle East with a 73,000m2 indoor event space and 55,900m2 outdoor event space. Conveniently located a mere 15 minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport, surrounded by superb hotels and developed by a sustainability team and a member of 3 green initiatives, this year’s event will not only be spectacular but also once again in line with IFMA’s sustainability principles.
