Days 6 - WMC IFMA World Muaythai Championships

DAY 6 – 2nd December
Day 6 was one of the most exciting days of the Championships, with 76 fights in 3 rings, many of them for medal places as the finals draw near. The arena was packed with flag waving supporters and teams decked out in their national colours and saw some tough battles.
It was the day where the Eastern European countries wanted to show their dominance in the sport of Muaythai, but to do so they had to run through the powerhouses of Europe and Asia.
The highlights of the day were fights such as at 54kg, Belarus vs Thailand, won by Thailand in a very close decision with lots of support from the vocal crowd, Iran vs Portugal, Iran taking a close decision. In the 60kg division, Thailand and Kazakhstan really had a war, Thailand winning the last round to take the fight. 67kg saw Finland vs Russia which was one of the fights of the day, Finland winning a points decision and Belarus won against Greece in another great fight. At 71kg Ukraine and Germany showed Muaythai at a world class level, while in the 75kg division Russia had a big win over Thailand.
In the junior division it was another fantastic day, showing that Muaythai is in safe hands with some world class junior fights, China defeating South Africa, Uzkbekistan defeating Turkey, Australia defeating Russia, Uzkbekistan defeating Korea and South Africa defeating Brazil.
