General Chetta was appointed the President of the WMC in 1997. During his presidency, he has witnessed the growth from 39 to 120 member countries to date. He stated that the fostering of Muaythai as a culture, a martial art and a ring sport is the main objectives. General Chetta is pleased that Muaythai, under the WMC and IFMA, has grown into a worldwide recognized sport with the inclusion in GAISF, both on amateur and professional levels. He conveyed that it is of utmost importance that amateur and professional Muaythai work closely together to oversee the development of the sport, especially the youth development.
