Introduction to our Executive Board

Stephan Fox Needs No Introduction to the MUAYTHAI World

Stephan Fox
Secretary General, IFMA
Vice President WMC

His passion for the sport began when he came to Asia as an athlete. He started his career in the days when MuayThai was almost unknown outside of Asia, moving from other martial arts to focus on MuayThai.  He experienced a successful ring career, winning many titles in Thailand and abroad.

As a MuayThai pioneer, Mr. Fox has an affinity for the sport which, combined with his administrative abilities, makes him a natural candidate for the position he holds in the MuayThai world today.

Following his retirement from the sport, Mr. Fox was appointed as the Chairman of the Oceania MUAYTHAI Federation. He has been a driving force behind the huge growth of the sport in Australia. A native of Germany, with many links to European sporting bodies, he has forged strong bonds between the various national federations.

Fox has also been the WMC Vice President and the IFMA General Secretary for many years. He is probably the most easily recognizable board member, as he travels tirelessly from one country to another to encourage and promote the sport. Mr. Fox coined the IFMA motto – One World, One MuayThai - and is a firm believer in sport’s ability to bring people together.

Based in Thailand and Australia, Mr. Fox has seen firsthand the restorative effects of MuayThai on street children. This inspired him to become involved with the Muaythai Against Drugs World Campaign, which is chaired by the Privy Councillor to HRH, the King of Thailand, General Pichitr Kullavanijaya. As Acting General Secretary to this campaign, Mr. Fox has brought these shows to stadiums and TV screens all over the world.

Stephan is also a member of the GAISF Martial Arts Committee. He is a firm supporter of the upcoming GAISF Games under patronage of the IOC.  He firmly believes that these Games will offer athletes the opportunity to better understand different cultures and value sportsmanship.
