IFMA, which has been recognized by the OCA since 1998 as the world body for Muaythai, had a private meeting with Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, President of the OCA and IOC member.
Important issues discussed in the meeting was the co-operation of OCA and IFMA for upcoming games and activities in the Asia and world region.
As of 2012, the Federation of Amateur Muaythai of Asia (FAMA), IFMA’s continental federation for Asia, is also officially recognised by the OCA.
