Message from H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco
Patron of “Peace and Sport, L’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport”, Olympian & IOC Member
Sport of any kind has the power to unite and bring together cultures and populations from all parts of the globe. In this uncertain world, sport and the rules of sport are a source of stability, education and integration for young people in vulnerable situations, thanks to the values of sharing, tolerance, respect and loyalty that it generates.
Muaythai is a sport and martial art with a proud culture and tradition, which has gained world recognition as a member of SportAccord. Muaythai is an ancient
art: a science, culture, and sport combining high-minded values with healthy competitiveness.
IFMA, the world governing body for the sport, has received much praise for its cultural exchange programs and charity projects, using sport as a tool to make the world a better place.
As Patron of “Peace and Sport, l’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport” I am delighted that IFMA has become a member of our campaign to help to promote a spirit of civic-mindedness, of dialogue, and of acceptance in order to ease tensions and establish peace through sport.
I would like to congratulate IFMA for organizing this year’s World Championships and to wish all athletes, from the vast number of participating countries, all the best for the competition.
Finally, on behalf of the Principality of Monaco, I extend my most sincere wishes to His Majesty the King of Thailand on the occasion of the celebration of his 83rd birthday.
