Thirty Asian countries participated in the IFMA World Championships and the annual meeting of the Federation of Amateur Muaythai of Asia (FAMA) was held. Agenda points covered how FAMA will develop in the next three years, starting with the FAMA elections. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Mr. Karim Massimov, was unanimously re-elected for another four year term to head the Asian federation, which is recognized by the Olympic Council of Asia.
The 2012 IFMA Goodbye Party was a night where all the competitions came to an end and over 80 countries celebrated their cultural understanding and friendship through Muaythai.
The President of IFMA, Dr. Tapsuwan, thanked the Russian Muaythai Federation and its president Mr. Dmitry Putilin.
The IFMA Junior Finals this year have shown that the next generation of Muaythai is safe and maybe even stronger than the current one. The Wai Khrus displayed in the junior competition showed how deeply rooted the traditions and values of the sport are integrated into youth development.
