Congratulations to Vewart Comta, IWGA Athlete of the Month for August 2015. The Muaythai fighter from Thailand won the gold medal (weight class 57 kg) at the IFMA Muaythai Royal World Cup in Bangkok. He became the first athlete to qualify for The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw/Poland. Finally, the Jury, made up of all Technical Officials of IFMA, awarded the King’s Trophy to Thailand and Vewart Comta for most outstanding performance in the Senior Male category. Read More
The World Muaythai Council, under Royal Patronage and the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur called a combined press conference to announce the 2014 Kings Cup Gala Event.
Special honour was given to Dr. Jarin Suankaew Chairman of the King’s Foundation, who opened the press conference, and gave a word of congratulations to the World Muaythai Council under Royal Patronage and delighted to have both the WMC and IFMA joining hands in this prestigious event.
A special meeting was held at the Four Wings Hotel in Bangkok for the upcoming ‘Muaythai Towards IOC’ event. The meeting was chaired by H.E. General Pichitr Kullavanijaya, Privy Councillor to His Majesty the King, and at the main table, there were dignitaries such as Dr. Nat Indrapana, IOC Member for Thailand, General Chetta Thanajaro, President of the WMC, Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan, President of IFMA, Admiral Surawut Maharom, Advisor to Educational Funds for the Sports Executive Committee, and representing the international muaythai community, Stephan Fox.
