A special cocktail reception was organised by the Royal Thai Government and the Minister for Tourism and Sport to welcome the Sweden delegation in Thailand.
Traditionally, at the closing ceremony the host city and country will hand over the IFMA flag to the next host city and country and this is always an emotional moment where the present meets the future with muaythai having a rich past.
The Minister thanked Sweden on behalf of the Royal Thai Government and IFMA President, Dr. Sakchye stated that Sweden is one of the outstanding countries in the world of muaythai which have been present at every IFMA World Championship since 1993. Sweden has truly have earned the right and more importantly the trust of the 130 IFMA member federations to host the flagship of IFMA.
IFMA Athletes Commission Chairwoman and EB member, Valentina Shevchenko stated that Sweden is one of the leading countries in female muaythai and that every athlete is so excited to convene at one of the most beautiful countries in the world where the best of the best will compete for honour and glory.
