If you’re into Muay Thai, you have your self defense bases covered as far as it goes with striking martial arts… but you should definitely practice a grappling martial art to make sure you are a well rounded martial artist. I recommend Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (either Gi or No-Gi).

While Muay Thai is an amazing martial art that I love to practice, it’s less popular than boxing or MMA (or even kickboxing) – so if making money as a professional fighter is your main goal, it’s probably not going to be the route you want to go down.

Muay Thai Gear Guides

Muay Thai is a unique martial art, with some of the coolest gear around. Lots of Muay Thai brands make their gear in Thailand, which gives it an authentic feel.

Since Muay Thai gear is so unique, I put together The Ultimate Muay Thai Gear & Equipment Guide. Or if you’re looking for something specific, check out the guides below. Of course, most boxing gear is totally fine to train in for Muay Thai as well. Check out my picks for the best boxing gloves for some additional options.
