Spirit of Muaythai Individual Award 2014

The individual award for the Spirit of Muaythai went to Pernilla Johansson, of the Swedish Muaythai Federation this year. She has shown dedication to the sport as well dedication to helping at-risk individuals in making positive changes in their lives. Pernilla is also a former IFMA and WMC World Champion and has just been nominated as new chairperson of the IFMA Youth commission.

Spirit of Muaythai National Federation Award 2014

Giving back is a huge part of Muaythai, and every year, Muaythai dedicates special awards to National Federations and individuals which have done outstanding work to use Muaythai to make a positive change. This year’s winner for the National Federations went to Peru for their “Sport is Your Gang’ initiative.

Part 3: IFMA Members Workshop “Sport Is Your Gang” with Frysbox, Sweden

The third part of the IFMA Members Workshop focused on IFMA’s “Sport Is Your Gang” project. The presentation opened with a video of Muaythai social projects, followed by clips of some of Muaythai’s champions speaking about their life experiences with Muaythai and showing their support for “Sport Is Your Gang.”

IFMA was happy to introduce special guest speaker Pernilla Johansson. A big thank you must go to the Swedish Muaythai Federation for helping to make her trip possible. The Frysbox project embodies the spirit of Sport Is Your Gang, making it a pleasure for IFMA to be able to highlight this project.
